What you’ll contribute to:

An exciting opportunity has recently become available for an experienced Security Manager to join our team across all our regional ports in Townsville, Mount Isa and Long Reach. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, the successful applicant will ensure the development, implementation and management of the security standards and procedures across all of our regional ports to ensure the operations are safe, secure and efficient.

I’ve been with QAL for over year now and I learn something new every day. In my role, not only do I oversee the administration duties at the airport, but I also get the opportunity to work on various tasks and projects that help broaden my knowledge and understanding of the operational aspects of running an aerodrome. QAL also provides various avenues to support my professional development."

We are looking for a diligent and conscientious person with experience working within an airport environment. You will pride yourself on your work ethic and enjoy making a valuable team contribution.

The Security Manager for our Regional Ports tasks, include, but aren’t limited to: -

• Ensure compliance to ATSR2005 for the Regulatory and Screening Authority across all regional ports.
• Develop, implement and manage security response procedures for the ports. 
• Provide the lead role in negotiation and management of screening contract.
• Develop, influence and maintain strong working relationships with the Aviation Industry, Australian Federal Police and Government Agencies
• Chair and manage activities of the Airport Security Committee 
• Security representative at Aerodrome Safety Committee 
• Ensure customer experience is embedded into Townsville Airports security culture

• To be successful in this role, you will have relevant training in security and emergency practices. Experience within an airport environment would be highly regarded but not required. You will have good knowledge of regulatory standards and policies – (ATSR 2005), as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
