In this role, you’ll contribute to the reliable and efficient operation of critical airport technology systems, ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations and a seamless experience for stakeholders. You’ll leverage your technical expertise, vendor management skills, and strong communication to improve system performance, build in-house capability, and drive continuous improvement across QAL’s technology environment.

How will you make an impact?

The Airport Operating Technology Specialist is responsible for the continuous, reliable operation of the airport operating technology that supports day-to-day activities across all of QAL’s ports. This includes common-use passenger processing platforms (CUTE/CUPPS, CUSS, BRS), flight information display systems (FIDS), public address and dynamic signage, and access control, CCTV and security systems. The role manages day-to-day vendor relationships, incident response and resolution, and the preventative and corrective maintenance of these systems.

This role acts as the operational bridge between airport stakeholders and technology vendors — ensuring airlines, ground handlers, contractors and internal teams have reliable, well-supported systems, while holding vendors accountable to service levels, response times and reporting obligations.

Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures reliable operation of airport technology systems across all QAL ports (e.g. passenger processing, FIDS, security systems), proactively monitoring performance and preventing disruptions.
  • Manages vendor and contractor relationships, acting as the key point of contact and holding providers accountable to service levels, contracts, and delivery outcomes.
  • Leads incident and maintenance management, including triaging issues, coordinating resolution, communicating with stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement through post-incident reviews.
  • Builds and maintains in-house technical capability, performing system configuration, user administration, and updates to reduce reliance on vendors and improve response times.
  • Maintains strong governance and documentation, including system records, procedures, and lifecycle planning, while contributing to budgeting and long-term technology roadmap decisions.
