You’ll enable informed decision-making by ensuring risks are clearly identified, assessed and actively managed, while supporting robust audit and business continuity practices. Working closely with leaders across the business, you will help build capability, improve processes and ensure governance frameworks align with best practice and QAL’s values.

I am able to take up QAL’s flexible working offerings and this arrangement directly enables me to volunteer coach my kid’s soccer team on two afternoons each week

 

How will you make an impact?

In this role, you will partner with leaders across QAL to drive a proactive, enterprise-wide approach to risk, ensuring key risks are clearly understood, effectively managed and aligned to business objectives. You’ll strengthen organisational resilience by delivering robust risk, audit, insurance and business continuity frameworks, while providing clear, actionable insights that support confident decision-making at Executive and Board level. Through continuous improvement and a focus on best practice, you will help embed a strong risk culture that balances performance with disciplined, responsible governance.

 

Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and continuously enhance QAL’s enterprise risk management framework, ensuring alignment to risk appetite and best practice
  • Partner with leaders to identify, assess and manage strategic, operational, financial and regulatory risks
  • Oversee and uplift risk registers, key risk indicators and mitigation plans across the business
  • Deliver a robust internal audit program, including managing external providers and tracking remediation outcomes
  • Strengthen business continuity capability through effective planning, testing and continuous improvement
  • Manage and optimise QAL’s insurance program to ensure appropriate, cost-effective coverage
  • Provide clear, timely risk, audit and insurance reporting to Executive and the Risk & Audit Committee
  • Build risk capability and awareness across the organisation through training, coaching and guidance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement and safe, compliant operations across all sites
