What you’ll contribute to:
We are seeking a motivated, organised and hands-on Procurement Construction Specialist to join the QAL team! This position will support our procurement function, with a focus on supporting QAL 5-year Capital Program and optimising value. The role will be responsible for supporting Source to Contract activities across the different QAL entities, with most of the construction and infrastructure procurement related activities being delivered at the Gold Coast Airport.

How will you make an impact?
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- prior knowledge in procurement principles and best practice;
- 5+ years of experience in similar roles including minimum 3 years of experience in construction procurement / management of capital expenditure;
- knowledge and experience with Design and Construct contact negotiation and management
- a relevant tertiary education to support this.
The ideal candidate will also have an analytical mindset, and strong contract negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. You will play an important role in developing and implementing strategies across the QAL group and use your exceptional stakeholder management skills to get the best commercial outcomes.
As our Procurement function is still in a growth phase, you will have an opportunity to shape this role to suit you while working with the team.
Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Draft Procurement plans, manage RFx and lead supplier engagement until contract award (incl. establishment of panel arrangements through Master Services Agreement for Engineering and other types of services).
- Support the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts with suppliers to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.
- Support contracts management including performance review, variations, renewals and terminations to maximise value creation for QAL.
- Develop Category Plans, analyse market trends to inform strategic decision and pro-active risk management.
- Drive key Suppliers Relationships Management (SRM) to improve supplier performance and sustain value delivered to QAL.
- Identify cost-savings and other value add opportunities.
- Participate or lead initiatives to continually improve procurement related processes, procedures and systems to enhance workplace efficiencies.
