What you’ll contribute to:
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, in this role, you will provide expert Health and Safety knowledge, advice and support to our project managers, principal contractors and employees across our four airports. You will ensure all Health and Safety risks are eliminated or minimised as far as reasonably practicable in the project and infrastructure (P&I) areas, drive construction health and safety performance and actively support and lead the embedment of a culture of health and safety accountability and responsibility.

How will you make an impact?
You will bring 5-7 years of experience managing Health and Safety on major construction projects, including working with principal contractors. Your strong understanding of critical risk management practices and WHS legislative requirements will be complemented by experience in reviewing and approving WHS management plans and SWMS in line with WHS legislation.
In this role, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), project management abilities, and strong computer literacy are essential. You should be highly organised and methodical in your approach to work, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to be diplomatic yet assertive when needed. Demonstrated experience in communicating with regulators is highly valued.
A minimum Diploma qualification in WHS is required, with a TAE qualification being desirable. Operational experience in the aviation or airport industry is also advantageous.
Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Effectively maintain and update current risk assessment registers that apply to all projects and relevant infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain a program of inspections/audits and undertake testing as required.
- Provide detailed reports to senior management on Health and Safety matters from projects on a monthly basis.
- Conduct Health and Safety interface inspections, monitor and manage matters as they arise with the contractor/project team, ensure closure of corrective actions as undertaken by contractor and project team.
- Be the point of contact for project incident reporting. Investigating serious incidents where required.
