What you’ll contribute to:

This role is responsible for providing a range of efficient reception and administration tasks that always ensures an outstanding level of customer service. This role is a permanent part time opportunity with 40 hours per fortnight available, with shifts being 8:30am-1:00pm and 12:30pm-5:00pm on a rotating roster on Monday – Friday inclusive. Additional hours will only be available when required to cover absences.

Sarah, joined our Queensland Airports Pty Ltd (QAL) as an Administration Assistant in our Assets and Environment team in 2018, Sarah shares her unique experience working at QAL below:

 “I joined QAL in the Assets and environment team while looking for an Electrical apprenticeship to pursue my interest in Electrotechnology.  Not only did I receive the opportunity to complete an electrical apprenticeship, I was also given training opportunities which resulted in me finding my current position within the team.

In my role I assist multiple teams with administration duties.  I find my positive attitude and willingness to help sets me apart in my role.

QAL run many differently innovate programs for employees who are wanting to learn and progress their career.  QAL gives me the opportunity to work flexibly within a team that is both supportive and engaging, as well as giving me a workplace where I love coming to each morning”.

 

Key capabilities required to perform the role:

  • Experience in a service-based industry highly desirable
  • Experience working in a reception and answering customer telephone & email inquiries beneficial
  • Professional, responsible, with an approach that is service minded, positive and team oriented.
  • Strong organisational, time, task, and priority management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal patiently and sympathetically with all stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry beneficial

 

Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the smooth running of reception, including answering phone or email queries, and being the first point of contact for those visiting the office.
  • Provide general administration support such as accurate typing/emails, photocopying, binding, booking appointments, ordering catering and mail procedures
  • Ensure stationery and office supplies are monitored, ordered, delivered, and distributed promptly.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
